Biography

Carla Valenti is a representational painter born and raised in Ohio, where she still resides and operates her studio.

Since graduating from the Columbus College of Art and Design, Carla has worked to develop her skills as a traditional painter. Key to this continuing pursuit of excellence is constant independent study from Old Master works in museums and galleries. Concentrating on draftsmanship and traditional oil painting techniques, Carla uses a warm, restricted, yet bold palette to create her images. Her subject matter includes florals, still life, figures and portraits. In many of her compositions viewers can discover historical and mythological references embedded within a powerful representation of reality.

Carla has participated in several one and two person exhibitions and has been included in many group shows throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania. This has won her inclusion in numerous collections throughout the region and the East Coast. The work of Carla Valenti is represented in Columbus, Ohio by Art Access Gallery and in Cincinnati, Ohio by Closson's.
